Developing Intercultural Competence through Strategics didactics in a Women Public School in Lima-Perú

One study was carried out during April 2010 in Teresa Gonzales de Fanning women School in Lima-Perú. I presented some pedagogical strategies in classroom in order the students can develop Intercultural Competence. Three familiar and known EFL strategies were presented. Role plays, simulation and Task based learning. After, these strategies were activated in classroom they had an enormous impact on the girls. The girls not only acquired knowledge of the Peruvian culture and American culture, but they also developed skills to interpret and interact with materials from other cultures. For example, in the role plays, the students got information about cultural relevant meanings in USA: Before visit someone, you must call. Asume the role you are a expertise Peruvian tourist guide, and you are going to show Lima to your friend from The United states.

The idea is that the Students will be able to compare two cultures for negotiating meanings, beliefs and behviours from other social groups.
